The vertical meters for Tour de France 2026 are the average numbers of the figures published by la-flamme-rouge.eu and sanluca.cc. Stage 9: Due to the extreme heat, the organisers shortened the stage by 30 kilometres, removing the section immediately after the start. As a result, the sprint comes after only 13 kilometres. Original stage: 185.5 km, 3'175 m of climbing, 2'700 m of descending. Mountain classifications: no change. Stage 21: Due to wildfires in southern France, police assigned to the Tour de France finale were redeployed. After the team presentation in Thoiry, the riders were bused to Paris for six laps of the Champs-Élysées, followed by three Montmartre circuits. During the race, the organisers decided to take the general classification times with 48 kilometres remaining. From then on, only the stage victory was at stake.
